The streusel topping on this is really good. And the hot, soft, cream and sugar infused bread is really good, too. The only thing holding this back from a really high rating is how hard the top crust gets. You need a knife for some spots as a fork just won’t cut it – see what I did there?
That said, the next time we have a houseful for breakfast I am going to try this again with a foil cover for the first 20 minutes to see if that makes a difference, because the flavor is worth fixing the crust issues if I can.
