WOW! I have never had one of these before and I have spent 50-cough years missing out on this delectable sammich. If you find this on the menu somewhere give it a go!
That said, it was a sloppy MESS to make. Found out the hard way you cannot slide it into the oil on a meshed strainer on the first one. Found out you can’t just dip it in the batter and then drop it in with tongs on the second one. Numbers 3 and 4 were better as I figured out how to dip it into the batter with my fingers and then used the tongs to get it into the hot oil and disengaged before it fried to the end of them. So, as I said, if you find it on a menu where someone else has to deal with the mess to produce this scrumptious morsel BUY IT!
