Okay, the texture is just strange. It’s kind of grainy AND it needs more spice. I mixed it in with the spicy beans and they toned down the texture weirdness and amped up the flavor so they at least added bulk to the meal.
To be fair, I may not have fried the rice correctly because it’s based on stopping when you hit a certain color. I wish they would include pictures when they do that.
All in all, I will stick to the bagged stuff that occasionally can be found for a buck a bag. A lot quicker, fewer dishes, and no guessing.
