Magnolia Table 2 Cookbook Challenge

The new Magnolia Table cookbook has hit the shelves, so it’s time for another cookbook challenge! I had so much fun with the first one, and found so many good recipes, that this one has some big shoes to fill.

There are a couple of things in this one that I already really like. The top one is a section devoted to breads! I have had a bread machine for 25 years (the same one and it still works) and have mostly used it to make dough for rolls and pizza crust. I haven’t experimented with it beyond that, so this will be an excellent opportunity to make some new things. I adore focaccia and there is a recipe for it in this book.

Another unusual section is titled “scratch made” and has things in it you may buy frequently at the store (pie crust, tortillas, gnocchi) but may never have tried your hand at in your own kitchen. Will the flavor be worth the extra effort? Follow along and we will find out together.

When I complete all the recipes I will do a summary of the whole book and will post summaries along the way.
