Do you know what you cannot find in August? Cranberries. Fresh or frozen. I had to settle for canned cranberries but even canned WHOLE cranberries can make a really good cranberry sauce.
I have made fresh cranberry sauce before so can vouch for the recipe if you are using fresh ones when they are in season. The orange zest and juice are what makes this dish so good. And it beats the heck out of cranberry jellies that retains the shape of the can!
I used this on the do-over for the Friendsgiving Casserole and also with the Cheese Balls 4 Ways.
