I make this several times a year using my own recipe which is basically the same. If you are Southern you probably have one yourself already. If not, then this is a good one.

Personal complaint: the recipe doesn’t specify the shape of the dish and it matters. I used a 2.5 quart casserole dish as specified and it took forever for the center to set up. Once it did it was delicious.
