Pronounced “shahr-ku-tuh-ree”, it is the French art of preparing and serving cured meats. A Charcuterie Board is the art of assembling a colorful appetizer tray of meats, cheeses, and accouterments that will make Martha Stewart weep with envy. Assembly takes about 5 minutes if you leverage the grocery store’s precut cheeses and cured meats or up to an hour if you go all out and slice everything yourself.

I went with a mixture of salami, pepperoni, and an assortment of cheeses with 2 preserves, black currant and peach, to top 2 different crackers. The tri-color tomatoes and the grapes balance the meat and cheeses and lighten it up a bit.

What makes this so great is you can mix and match to your heart’s content to fit the season or the reason.
