With garlic toast – 4.6
I love artichoke dip so this is an easy one to give a high score to. I was skeptical about the amount of dill, and it works for the first few bites but then it is a bit overpowering. I will use about half next time I make it. The Gouda is a really good flavor that I have not used this way before.
On another note, I will have to do it again because when I pulled the bread out to make the garlic toast that goes with it in the book it had gone over so I used bagel crisps that I had on hand. Darn! I hate to eat this more than once in a month! /sarc
*** Update – made the garlic toast and the added flavors tone down the dill a bit so I bumped it up 1/10th of a point.
Like several other recipes in this book, there is a good tip for the artichokes that I won’t give away. I am going to recommend this book to all my young family and friends that are just learning to cook so they can learn these things 30 years sooner than I did. 🙂
